William Welch

Mr. Welch has nine years of experience as a teacher (physics, science), learning coach, athletic coach, and school leader in education, currently serving as Associate Principal of Williams Bay Middle/High School near Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. He is a servant leader with a deep Catholic faith who strives to help youth develop a personal relationship with Jesus. Xavier will benefit from his experiences and expertise in collaborative teamwork, restorative practices, relationship-building, career and technical education, work-based learning, continuous improvement, data-focused learning, and collective ownership and responsibility for the learning success of all students.

Mr. Welch shares a deep understanding of the role faith plays in Catholic education, and we are excited about the future of Xavier High School and the positive impact he will have on students, families, faculty, and staff. Mr. Welch officially starts as Xavier High School Principal on July 1, 2025. He has family connections with Xavier and has spent many years enjoying Christmas Stars and our Xavier community. He is excited to lead Xavier High School and looks forward to building relationships with staff and families. Will expressed excitement about joining the Xavier community, “I am overjoyed to be part of the Xavier learning community.
