In 2018, Xavier School System's leadership embarked on a journey to enhance our school facilities by developing a comprehensive master facility plan.
Among the numerous projects outlined in this plan, one shone brightly due to its potential to impact the Xavier School System experience – installing artificial turf on Xavier High School's Rocky Bleier Field.
Currently, our beloved field, with its natural grass surface, is regrettably limited in its use and access for our students. Football games understandably take precedence, leaving little room for other events and experiences. It's time to change that, and we are excited to share the plans for this transformative project.
The Benefits of Artificial Turf Installation:
1. Year-round Access: By replacing the natural grass with a synthetic surface, we will make the field accessible to the entire Xavier School System community throughout the year.
2. Expanded Opportunities: This improvement opens the field to new student events and experiences, including a broader range of sporting activities, clubs, and band practices.
3. Maintaining Excellence: Our commitment to ensuring that Xavier's Rocky Bleier Field is on par with other regional schools in Northeast Wisconsin and maintains its excellence.
We are thrilled to announce that a consortium of generous donors has come forward to champion the complete funding of this project. We extend our heartfelt appreciation to these benevolent donors for their dedication to enhancing our facilities and, by extension, the educational experience of our students.
It's worth noting that the entire funding for this project has been secured without diverting any operational funds from our system. This reaffirms our responsible stewardship of resources and our commitment to using our resources wisely.
Construction will commence late November 2023 and is expected to be completed in the Spring/Summer of 2024.
