Eligibility & Requirements

Athletes at Xavier High School are expected to abide by the Xavier Athletic Code and the WIAA Code of Conduct for Athletic Participation.  The rules contained in the code are established in the best interest of the student, the team/group to which he/she belongs, and Xavier High School.  The student who complies with these rules demonstrates a desire to dedicate himself/herself to self-improvement as well as to enhance the best interests of fellow students, coaches/moderators, and the school.

These rules must be observed year-round by all athletes, including athletes of any new sport or new aspects of the Code.  Athletes are responsible that they have the most-current version.

Any questions about the Xavier Athletic Code should be directed to Kathy Bates, the Athletic Director at Xavier.

ATHLETIC FEES
The per-student fee is $140 per sport.  Athletic fees will be added to the financial statements, once teams are selected and uniforms are distributed.  Do NOT send a separate check.  Do not pay the athletic director or a coach.

PHYSICAL EXAM
Each student-athlete must have proper, completed paperwork on file with the Xavier Athletic Director before taking part in any practice, tryout or interscholastic athletic competition.  Usually, the needed forms should be turned to the Xavier AD in by August 1 of each school year, or, turn in the forms at the first tryout or equipment handout, or for sure no later than the first practice.  All forms and paperwork, when turned in, should be inside the folder provided at the Eligibility Meeting.  Be SURE that the DATE of the physical exam is listed on the page before turning in the material to the AD.

FOREIGN & INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS
Any foreign students or international exchange students interested in participating in interscholastic athletics at XHS must contact the Xavier Athletic Director as soon as possible, after their enrollment at Xavier has been confirmed, so that eligibility may be determined by the WIAA.
