The Guidance Department uses a curriculum specifically for the Diocese of Green Bay that is based on the Wisconsin Comprehensive School Counseling Model. Lessons are research-based and focus on these main areas: Academic, Personal and Social, and Career. Within these three main categories are many topics ranging from diversity, safety and wellness, transitions, etc.
Lessons are taught in a variety of ways, depending on the age level of the students. In some classes we read stories, do art work, play games, and discuss various topics. In other classes, we use computers for research, have student-led discussions, play games, etc. Guidance is a fun way to teach valuable lessons.
All of the guidance departments within our Xavier Catholic Schools work together very closely. We want to ensure that all of our students receive well-planned, valuable lessons that will help them both academically and socially. If you have any questions, feel free to contact us.
