2018 Hall of Honors Recipients








On Friday, October 5, 2018, Xavier honored four deserving individuals at its Hall of Honors ceremony during an all-school assembly.  Doug Simon (’87), Sister Mary Ann Spanjers, OSF (’77), and Captain Michael L. Weeldreyer, USN (’91) were inducted into the Hall of Honors as Distinguished Alumni and Jim Romenesko will be recognized with an Honorary Alumni Award.  The Hall of Honors recognizes people who would be Catholic Christian role models for our present and future students. 
 
The criteria for induction as Distinguished Alumni into the Hall of Honors are:

  • An honoree shall be a graduate of Xavier High School and must have attended the school at least two years prior to graduation.
  • A period of at least fifteen years must have elapsed between graduation and eligibility.
  • The nominee is a positive role model, worthy of being emulated by current and future students of Xavier High School.
  • The nominee has experienced extraordinary success in his/her professional career, and/or the nominee has made significant contributions to the community and/or a religious organization.
  • The nominee exhibits outstanding leadership, character, integrity and service to his/her community.
  • The nominee is an active member of a Catholic parish and lives out his/her Catholic faith as a witness to others.
The Honorary Alumni Award is presented to friends of St. Francis Xavier Catholic School System who have a demonstrated impact in their Church and/or community and who can serve as role models which our students can emulate. 
 
We congratulate these members of the Xavier community and thank them for using their gifts and talents to make a positive difference in the world.
