Wisconsin Parental Choice Program (WPCP)

The Wisconsin Parental Choice Program (WPCP) allows students who reside in a Wisconsin school district, other than the Milwaukee or Racine Unified School District, to attend any participating private school if certain eligibility criteria are met and the students are selected in the random drawing conducted by the Department of Public Instruction (DPI). The private school, on behalf of the pupil’s parent or guardian, receives a state aid payment for each eligible student.

If your family income places you at or below 220% of the federal poverty guideline you may consider applying for a voucher through the Wisconsin Parental Choice Program (WPCP) via the DPI.

These vouchers are awarded on a lottery basis and cover the cost of the base tuition and the
registration fee.  For more information on the program click here for the FAQ.

To apply a parent need to complete the Online Parent Application and bring proof of residency, such as, a recent utility bill to Xavier Catholic Schools  at 1600 W. Prospect Avenue, Appleton.

Availability of new student vouchers is determined yearly based on the DPI run lottery. Once a student is awarded a voucher with St. Francis Xavier Catholic School System, with minimal paperwork the voucher follows the child through grade 12.

The open application period for the 2018-2019 school year was from February 1 – April 20, 2018.  For more information on the WPCP and Xavier Catholic Schools’ participation please contact Tara Pearce at (920) 735-9380 or tpearce@xaviercatholicschools.org
